about
Danny Barton's debut single ‘New Day Coming” is a bombastic driving pop song tackling the problems of white privilege in the UK, demanding we do better.
Growing up with both parents as songwriters Danny has been writing songs since he could hold an instrument. He’s spent years writing and playing in other bands but this project is under his own name - he’s enjoying the creative freedom that it allows. This track was written and recorded in his home studio in his flat in Bedford.
Despite the Acoustic roots of the song, the arrangement is dense with squealing guitars and pounding drums - Bartonalways wants to capture the energy of a rock band whether he’s playing with a rhythm section or alone behind an acoustic guitar.
Danny has spent years gigging around the 3 Counties and beyond, balancing energy and sense of humour with both serious and more light hearted lyrical subject matter.

LYRICS
You're turning the lights down low
Until now you're blinded and ignorance breeds ignorance I know Woah
So study up
Get a clue
Seems the very least that we can do
And maybe feel the lighter load
Can't you see the lighter load?
Say thank you for the lighter!
We could use another new day coming last one let us down
Find yourself a little forward thinking and then spread it all around.
Never been the one to go start Something? Time to turn that round
Cause we could use another new day coming.
Can’t you See which side of history you're on?
After all that we've been through
No ones saying it's easy being me or being you, no no
But of the problems we've overcome
Save its safe to say our pigment isn't one
So can’t you see your lighter load
Say thank you for your lighter load
Be grateful for your lighter
We could use another new day coming last one let us down
Find yourself a little forward thinking and then spread it all around.
Never been the one to go start Something? Time to change that now
Cause we could use another new day coming
Educate yourself and pass it on
So am I an ally?
Its all they're really hoping we can be.
So believe us, don't leave us
Help us fix these problems can’t you see
That we’re sick and we’re tired and done with waiting patiently
We could use another new day coming last one let us down
Find yourself a little forward thinking and then spread it all around.
Never been the one to go start Something? Time to change that now
Cause we could use another new day coming
And the forward path's no mystery so decide which side of history you're on
